The world has been called a global village because unlike in the past when each nationality was locked up in its own cocoon, contact with people whose views and practices are alien is so common nowadays. This is why training for diversity is much needed. This is built upon the realization that whether it is in business, politics, education or family matters, interaction with people who are likely to have diverse backgrounds cannot be avoided.

Whether you are handling a baby boomer who is frustrated with the work ethic of a Gen Xer or you are mentoring an impatient Gen Y employee who has lost his cool with the technical skills of older team members, at some point the white flag has to go up and work must proceed. 

The newest diversity issue on the block is generational diversity. Age has taken its place beside gender, race, and culture as a way to define what binds some groups of people together and drives other groups absolutely crazy. If you have parents who grew up during the Great Depression, siblings who witnessed the turbulent 60s and Watergate, or teenagers who zip effortlessly around the Internet, you know all about generational clashes and collisions.
